She's Home!

Once in a while, there's a day when Lucy hits a milestone we didn't even know existed. Yesterday was one of those days. She goes down for naps and bed like a champ but has always woken up crying and/or whining and very clingy but distant. It's tough to try to help her through it when she wants to be held but, when we try to hold her, she gets totally annoyed.

Anyway, yesterday I heard a little something coming from her room and went up to investigate. Not only was she in her bed and not ticked off about it, she was trashing the room like a rock star. It was like suddenly she knew this is home and saw her room in whole new light.

She had pants on when she was put in her crib. But then again, she also had blankets and pillows and you see what she did with them. I'd like to blame her for the unmade bed next to her crib but that was from me sleeping in it the night before. We notice when she wakes up in the middle of the night, she wants Daddy to rock her and even take her downstairs. But when Mommy is the one to come in, she knows it's time for business and we both lie down and go back to sleep. Funny how she gets it so quickly. Mommy will do anything for you, but don't mess with my sleep.
And this last picture is only in here because there's just no way to hide it. Me holding scissors + fidgety girl = a haircut that should've never happened. I chopped off her bangs when she suddenly jerked away from me. Fortunately, she's so darn cute that she can pull it off -- and barrettes always help. I was just trying to even out the big strip down the front of her face. Oops.

Tomorrow: Lucy's first professional photo session. The results!

Love it:) Aaden wakes up from naps with no socks and pants on too and sometimes he even manages to get his shirt off! Luckily they invented feetsy pj's for at night or I'd have a freezing little boy. Congrats on Lucy newest milestone!

that's a wonderful milestone to hit!
My daughter gets her lovely head of hair from her dad, who is filipino. I have finally learned, after 2 1/2 years of trying to cut her hair myself (yikes) and going to every tom, dick and harry hairdresser for children in NYC, asian hair is different from caucasian, and very different to cut. Something my husband has been telling me for 2 1/2 years! You either need an asian hairdresser or a very talented children's hairdresser. we finally found one in brooklyn and man was she worth the trip! especially since my daughter decided at the age of two that she would no longer allow me to put ANYTHING in her hair. I think Lucy's hair looks adorable, but I feel your pain of trying to cut uneven hair growth into something kind of even, I never got it to work.
