mom for hire

After 16 years working in television, mostly at NBC and Warner Bros., I was lured away from the small screen and plopped into the online world.

In late 2006, I got a call from Warner Bros. asking if I knew of any "edgy, opinionated moms." Next thing I know, I was the founding editor of momlogic.com, their soon-to-be launched parenting site, assigned the task of creating the look, tone and content of the site. I also acted as community manager and spokesperson, expressing my opinion on topics like Octomom on the Today Show, birth control for teens on CNN and debating what I considered bad advice with Ryan Seacrest. I also produced and hosted LIVE online events, created co-branded sweepstakes and contests and promoted momlogic.com's featured stories and events throughout the country on local radio and TV outlets.

It was then that I realized I needed a bigger reach. Since early 2009, I've broadened my experience by writing about a variety of topics relating to women and moms. Writing and consulting clients include: Family.com, GetHatched.com, Galtime.com, Discovery Girls Magazine, and True Mom Confessions.

• I also consult for Web and television, providing an expertise on creating compelling content, reaching women and effectively utilizing social media.
• Co-host a local parenting show as well as do on-camera appearances on Websites and TV.
• Speak at live events about the power of social networking, living an authentic life, motherhood, balance and other female-centric topics, tapping into my own background.
• Research, write and talk on topics that are close to my heart and home: autism, adoption, childhood allergies/asthma, genetic cancers and other challenges that have made my life experiences look like a walking daytime talk show.

And, in all my spare time, I launched an local online community, mobilizing thousands of moms in my own backyard to create a stronger neighborhood and even better quality of life. (Psst: I can teach you how to do the same thing in your own hometown!)
