Santa: Then and Now

Seems all of Lucy's buddies from SLC have this pic from last year with Santa. I remembered seeing it and went back and dug it up to compare it to this year. I can't believe how much has happened in such a short time and look forward to future Christmases with our little girl.

I know it sounds a bit odd if you've never been in this position but it's just starting to sink in that this has really happened and that she's here forever. Anyone else out there "get" that?

Yeah I get that when we are on tantrum 12 at 1 pm. And I sit back and go 'and we really gotta keep her huh?'

Just kidding. I do get what you mean :)

Totally get that! Actually, it has been such a whirlwind the past month and a half, that I still do that quite frequently. I'll be looking at pics or something and think - wow, my daughter is here.

Only Lucy would insist she sit on Santa's head instead of his lap! Here forever? I think I got that one day one if you know what I mean. Getting into the family groove (for lack of a better description) is also known as the '5 Month Miracle' around here. Some remarkable and welcome changes are occuring in our family right now. So yeah, I really really get it.

Great picture with the beardless santa! We have the same picture with David - we'll need to dig it out (from the computer files!) and see how big he's grown in 12 months! Linda

I get it, not b/c we have adopted yet, but b/c we never thought we would have another child after Rebecca. Last Christmas Elizabeth was 2 months old and even now I still look at her and think, "God REALLY gave YOU to ME!" Kucy is growing into a beautiful sweet girly-girl!! Merry Christmas, Jackie!!

Sure do Jackie - and when your heart and head get together and finally believe that this little girl is truly yours, created for you and your family and ready to love you all to pieces - then you can put your feet up and relax - finally - she really is yours and nobody can take her or make you give her back. She's all love, ready to enlarge your hearts and ready to take in all the love you have to give. You'll find, like we did, that this very special child is God's promise of love. Merry Christmas!
