Everything But the Kitchen Sink

After getting off the plane yesterday, we were so excited to see the kids, we couldn't get to summer camp fast enough. When I saw them, I could've sworn they grew and aged a year in the two days we were gone. After smushing their faces with kisses and hugging them 'til they were begging to breathe, we all piled into the car to head home. As we were driving, we revealed that there was a surprise for each of them waiting at home.

"Is it a kitchen sink?," Jacob asked.

No, not a kitchen sink. In fact, while the mold is gone and we're back in our house and out of Melrose Place, our kitchen still stands with no sink or stove... waiting to be repaired. We were warned by others at the beginning of this that getting payment and contractors to move at our pace would prove difficult. I had no idea how right they would be.

Wow - Lucy looks so old/grown up in that pic (but still adorable). They grow up too fast.
