Barack and Jackie: Day 1

While the whole world is still reeling from the history-making events that occurred yesterday, I had quite a day of my own.

As of 4:00 yesterday, I have a new employer -- me.

What? Are you crazy?? In this economy??

The past two years have been an awesome ride. I know more about the Web than I could've ever imagined. I worked with some pretty remarkable women and kicked some serious butt -- working harder than I ever have. I would've never even known how to get this blog off the ground had I not learned from the best.

That being said, I think as a woman, mom, and human being -- when all is said and done, the most important thing we can do is stay true to who we are and what we truly want in our own lives. It's a scary thing to 'follow your bliss' (did I really just quote Oprah?), but when I committed to Jeff and the kids -- they also committed to me. And having that love and support drives me more than anything else.

So I guess that means I'm back on the market, baby. I'll be taking on clients, doing anything from writing and producing to Internet marketing and consulting. I'll also have the time and energy to continue our Napcast episodes -- discussing all the things that matter to us most -- and create a blog to complement it.

It's a terrifying yet exciting time in the world... and in my world. Here's to the future!
