Twas the Night Before...

Twas the night before Christmas, in the Mac family house
Three creatures were stirring, with squeaks like a mouse.
The stockings were hung, while Dad had a beer,
Putting toys all together, soon we'll get there.

While the children were supposed to be sleeping in bed,
There was too much excitement swimming around in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, enjoying a nightcap,
We'll never get to sleep, well maybe a nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
We sprang from assembling to see what was the matter.
Away to the window we flew like a flash,
For we had just wrapped it up, our XMAS eve bash.

It felt a bit chilly but, of course, there's no snow
Which made it quite clearly, the objects below.
When, what to our wondering eyes should appear,
But our egg noggin' guest knockin' over reindeer.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And we laughed when we saw him, in spite of ourselves!
But getting him in a cab without banging his head,
while finishing up toy making was causing us dread.

The moral here is drinks and kids doesn't work.
Because one of the "grownups" is always the jerk.
While trying to hide the big mess, the kids know,
That Uncle Ted is heading for a hangover, DOH!

So Taiwan-On readers, this is our wish
To tell you be merry but don't drink like fish
Because no one needs that unfortunate sight
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

I saw your picture of your mountain view, and I think we might be relatively close neighbors! I adopted from China with Heartsent and we are waiting for our second daughter. Anyway, I was looking around for something to email you privately, but I couldn't find anything. If you are a member of the Heartsent yahoo group, I can email you that way.
Merry Christmas!

You are so creative. I have no idea how a mother of three on Christmas Eve has the energy, time or creativity to come up with this, but then again, you are SUPER Mom! I must start preparing for Christmas morning now. . .Sweet Dreams!
