We've Had a Breakthrough!

First, we're very happy that Lucy goes all night without a peep--even when waking up. The bad news: she doesn't sleep at all if she's in her crib. It's our bed all the way. I was the mom nazi with the first two when it came to bottles and the family bed and such. I was 100% against starting the night with a kid under our covers. But I'm conflicted when it comes to Lucy because there are several schools of thought. And, let's be honest... getting sleep these days is just plain necessary. Jeff left the house this am, and she didn't even make a peep about it. Hooray! We went for a little stroll in the neighborhood, she spent two hours napping in my arms (she's got a little cold), and then we ventured out and got lunch and went to the book store and to look at swing sets for the backyard. She was absolutely fantastic! She doesn't cry in the carseat anymore, and really got into getting out in public. In fact, she wanted down and was off and running!

Then, seeing this happening this afternoon was enough to make a mom smile. My three little ones playing nicely together (of course, it was with a toy the boys haven't touched in months, if not years but now suddenly have to have). And I won't mention that 30 seconds later, one kid was pushing another. I'll just live in the moment.

Yea!! And what a beautiful, finally-not-so-blazing hot day to have some time out of the house. I'm so glad to hear things are going better. Don't sweat the bed:)

I love the photo in the car seat. I do hope you weren't driving! LOL (I can tell from the photo the car was in motion!) Well, and if you can drive and take pictures, you're super talented! Lucy looks so different with her bangs pulled back - she looks so innocent. . .Hugs, Tiff

She's gonna be a mommy's girl before you know it. :) For the sleep issue... What about one of those co-sleepers that attach to the side of the bed. Letting her sleep next to one of you but not in the middle?? Bailey has slept with us for the last several years and I have a feeling Breelyn will also when she gets home. Your kiddos are so cute together. I think its great that they're so close in age. :)

HAHA - No, Tiff... I wasn't driving. I actually thought, "who will notice we're moving and ask if I was driving." Ha - you win!
