Jackie... I had NO idea. I just ran across this, I'm not even sure how. I'm sorry, but I do think you are heroic in making that decision. You did it with your children in mind and knew you had a loving husband who would stand by you, "for better or for worse." What a lucky gal. I also get nervous about it all, where my mother had severe breast cancer 40+ yrs ago. Should I get tested for the gene? I wonder... with no kids in my life, I wonder if I should.. and then if I find out... then what? I get mammos regularly. Jackie, do you think you would have been tested if you were not married and with children???
