A Post, All About You

This Christmas day is about recognizing our blessings, even when things can be tough. If you have enough time to read this, you have another few seconds to comment below and tell us why you're blessed this year. It's an exercise that helps us all appreciate the gifts in our lives. (Like Santa, I know if you visited here and don't comment.)

A commenter picked at random will receive a special holiday treat.

Merry Christmas!

I'm thankful for all the strange twists and turns in life that have brought us to where we are now and that have taught us so much, grown us so much, in the process. Vague answer, I know, but it's the right one for our family.

I am blessed with funny and loving husband, together we are blessed with 3 wonderful and sometimes wild, well a lot of times wild children. Riley, Trey and Chaislyn, she joined our family in Nov. 2006, we adopted her from China and through that we are blessed with being part of this incredible adoption community.

I'm blessed with the fact that, hey, I'm still alive. And I have a relatively happy family I can come home to, friends I can go to when I need them, and an amazing boyfriend who completes me.

eww that was cheesy.

I am so thankful of course that Noah is HOME! :) I am thankful Celeste at 20 is still here for Christmas because it could have been possible for her to not be, I am thankful my mother in law made it through heart surgery wonderfully Sunday and is home for Christmas and that this morning's scare with her is over and not a dangerous thing. And I am thankful for the gnats we CAN"T get rid of! If you wonder why I am thankful for the gnats drivin me nuts its because of the Corrie Ten Boon story where she could be thankful for everything but the fleas in the concentration camp and years later found out those fleas aloud them to share the love of the Lord and saved their lives. So though I have no clue WHY those gnats are here and wont leave I have to believe there is a reason and be thankful! I am thankful for all my wonderful friends I have met through our being touched by adoption, that Noah's friend Breelyn ChiaLing is FINALLY coming home in January!!!, for St. Lucy's for being there to take my baby in and so many of my dear friends babies and keep till they came to their families...I guess I'll hush but I can so go on!

hugs

I am thankful that the wait for our letter of acceptance has been delayed so that I may get to know my son's foster family and get to watch him on skype every week and get to know him better too.

I truly am thankful for the last Christmas I will spend with JUST my 2 daughters....next Christmas we will have our wonderful boy here.

Why I'm blessed. . .I'm blessed because God loves me! I'm blessed to be married to a wonderful husband who adores his children. I'm blessed with one handsome son, and one beautiful little girl. I have learned so much this year and have met some of the most wonderful ladies, including you! To watch these children born miles away become integrated into the lives of their forever families is such a gift. . .such a blessing.

blessed with a child just a few miles away from me here in Tainan, Taiwan... and the wait for her has painfully stretched my heart open to be big enough to give her all the love she needs and deserves.

I am thankful that last Christmas we were a family of 4 and sick with the worst crud we've ever had. This Christmas we are a family of 6 and have 2 whiney boys to prove it. :) Next Christmas we think we might be a family of 8. Each child a blessing, each child a puzzle to figure out.

I'm also blessed by blogs like yours that give inspiration and laughter to moms like me that have their hands full, heads spilling over with random pieces of information, and hearts that are ready to love more. Thanks for the blog this last year.

I'm pretty late commenting, but I have to say how thankful we are for our son, Odin, who joined our family this past March. We are blessed beyond words...
