I have consulted friends, read the blogs, rented the movies...you name it. But in the back of my head, I am trying to remember that none of it can replace the real life experience. It's so good to hear the stories like yours and know that it WILL be great, but it WON'T be right away.
JenMaci Millerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13506178512279029315noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1591350507271655442.post-7761791174632542352008-10-10T09:10:00.000-07:002008-10-10T09:10:00.000-07:00Jackie,It is gut-wrenching, faith testing, and unb...Jackie,
It is gut-wrenching, faith testing, and unbelievable-but oh so sweet-
hope month 2 goes very well for you all
Blessings
ChrisChrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07694801486700259654noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1591350507271655442.post-45939465696243965502008-10-08T21:03:00.000-07:002008-10-08T21:03:00.000-07:00Jackie,Thank you for opening your heart. I think my hard time was meeting the birth mother. Sarah was too sick and weak to protest when we met. I think she was so grateful to finally have someone with her to be with her constantly through the recovery after being alone in the hospital. But knowing that broke my heart too. It seems everyone has a hard part of their story. It's our labor pains. We now are waiting for our daughter from Taiwan and feel honored to be allowed to have a little glimpse into your family story. I think it is so important for people to know that bad feelings are a very natural part of the process. I find it very refreshing and reassuring. Thank you. There are articles and books, but what you share is the here and now, the "live" shot of your family as you grow in so many ways! Thank you for being so transparent with all of us!

ShannonRoom for Morehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13689442916160755101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1591350507271655442.post-34423683831381804122008-10-08T17:07:00.000-07:002008-10-08T17:07:00.000-07:00Jackie - beautifully put. It helps give me a realistic picture of what to expect when we get to that point. I am happy to hear and see how well Lucy is adjusting, too. She's a beautiful little girl! I guess from reading through attachment and adoption articles, Lucy's initial reaction to you was actually a good one, although it didn't feel that way at the time, because she showed that she is able to develop attachments and bond to those close to her. I am excited to continue following your family blog!

Cindy
http://adopttaiwan.wordpress.comCindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18371117999945902216noreply@blogger.com
